Low molecular weight compounds
Many studies have shown that the growth performance of a classical feed containing fish meal can hardly be reached with a feed having exactly the same nutritional values (protein, amino-acids, fat…) but without fishmeal.
This difference is explained by the presence in fishmeal of specific low molecular weight active compounds that boost animal growth. Nevertheless, due to the thermal treatment of the raw material during the fishmeal process, the quantity of these active compounds is very low.
Aquativ scientists have isolated and concentrated these active compounds mainly constituted of active peptides, amino acids and nucleotides. They also demonstrated in their testing facilities that these active compounds are critical drivers on fish and shrimp physiological activities and therefore growth performance.
Aquativ established that the biological activity of these low molecular weight compounds required a quality fresh raw material and a smooth process avoiding the protein denaturation. Aquativ hydrolysis bioprocess generates a high level of these low molecular weight compounds with preserved biological activity: the “Natural Active NutrientsTM” (NAN)
